Automotive Mechanic/Instructor

Full Circle Auto Repair and Training Center, a subsidiary of Vehicles for Change, is seeking a full-time Automotive Instructor for our Halethorpe, Maryland location.

If you are a retired automotive technician or ready to transition from hands-on work to sharing your knowledge with others, we want to hear from you! We are looking for an experienced technician with 5 years of experience who is knowledgeable, has good communication and people skills, and is familiar with Techmetric.

We are searching for a committed and skilled technician who enjoys teaching. Preferred qualifications include experience in teaching and instruction. Candidates should be adaptable and capable of interacting with a diverse community. The primary audience consists of returning citizens. Strong interpersonal skills are crucial for this position, so we only seek team players.

General qualifications include:

• 5 years experience
• Valid driver's license
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to use tact and diplomacy in communication with others
• Provides hands-on instruction and theory
• Basic grammar, computer skills, email, Techmetric knowledge
• Enthusiastic presence and the ability to work with others
• Time management and classroom pacing are a plus
• ASE Certification (C1) or the willingness to earn it
• Strong organizational and planning Skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and assistance to interns
• Classroom management, including small group instruction and shop hands-on training
• Shop safety protocols and repair/replacement instruction
• Assigns jobs and manages day-to-day workflow
• Maintain participant's progress notes
• Management of inventory, shop tools, and equipment
• Inspect bays daily for organization cleanliness and readiness
• Communicate training needs and online resources
• Attend events and meetings
• Reports directly to the Program Director
